REGULATORY COMPLIANCE
Balon Process Management (BPM) has significant experience in all aspects of hospital facilities management from risk and interim safety assessments and inspections, management plans, recurring safety committee reports, environmental rounds, fire safety testing/inspection, and building maintenance programs. We also specialize in Statement of Conditions (SOC) management, particularly the elimination of unnecessary Plans for Improvement (PFIs) through the pursuit of equivalencies and exceptions in the fire codes others are often not aware of.
FACILITIES MANAGEMENT INFRASTRUCTURE SUPPORT
We've developed numerous hospital equipment inventories and have helped organizations upload them into their Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) even if this means helping them first identify a suitable CMMS program. We've helped develop budgets using our expertise in historical spend data mining.
SAFETY PROGRAM
In the early 1990s the Joint Commission began using the term “Information Collection and Evaluation System (ICES)" to describe a way of managing an organization’s safety program. In most hospitals this ICES is the Safety Committee, and in an ideal world it functions exactly this way. Information is funneled into a central place, where it is examined and acted upon by a multidisciplinary team before it is communicated back to the organization at large. But although this is a good overall approach, it tends to bog down due to the very large amount of information under consideration. That's why we created Outmeet.
The Outmeet Program was designed to facilitate Hospital Safety Committes, although it will work for any committee or groups of people working on large numbers of tasks. It's more than just a group to-do list, however, as it facilitates real-time group collaboration. |
